Break your Fast with a Healthy Breakfast

You must be here after getting a ton of advice on how and why you must not skip breakfast as it's the most important meal of the day. However, it might not be similar for everyone and depends on you if you wake up hungry in the morning or grab it on the go.

After all, breakfast is the meal that breaks your fast every day and provides you with the energy your body needs for a great start to your day. You need to have healthy food packed full of nutrients to sustain your energy. The key to staying productive all morning is choosing whole foods and skipping processed snacks with added sugar. A healthy breakfast gives you the energy to start your day, while a bad one will leave most people feeling sluggish. Here are a few breakfast ideas I like to incorporate into my life.

  1. Yogurt with a Side of Fruit or Berries

If you want to indulge in something sweet without guilt, try pairing your favourite fruit with yogurt. Eating this organic breakfast food will not give you that dreaded mid-morning crash since it has a low glycaemic load. Berries add natural sweetness and fibre to the mix while still being belly friendly!

It's always better to go with Greek yogurt as it contains calcium, B vitamins, which are great for your digestion, and bacteria with different types of probiotics to improve gut health.

2. Bagels and Cream Cheese

Bagels have more carbohydrates than bread as its denser, but whole-wheat bagels are a healthier option. They are high in fibre, protein, and vitamins to help lower cholesterol. Topped with cream cheese, this is the ultimate indulgent breakfast. For those who are pretty health conscious but still need their morning treat on occasion - give this organic breakfast a go! Cream cheese is made from milk, so it will satisfy cravings while giving more of an energy boost than traditional dairy products due to its high protein content.

3. A Healthy Sandwich

You need to eat healthy food that will give your body energy and protein until your next meal or snack. If you have no time for breakfast, consider making yourself a sandwich made from two slices of whole wheat bread with lean meat (preferably turkey), lettuce (rich in Vitamin A and D), and a slice of low-fat cheese on top. It tastes great and can be made at night and kept in the fridge to take with you on the go.

4. Cereals with a Healthy Amount of Natural Sugar

When choosing cereal, we’ve all been told to look at how many sugar grams are contained in your regular cereal. The bright-coloured cereals might look appealing but has way too much sugar, so they won't do your body any favours. A genuinely healthy breakfast should be high fibre and low calorie - pay attention to what's listed when you're checking out boxes at stores because if there are multiple kinds, then beware and switch to high fibre ones. There are so many healthy food choices these days like The Unexpected Guests Gourmet Freestyle Granuesli, a delicious gutsy organic toasted honey muesli packed with 4 kinds of nuts and sultanas or their Gluten-Free Style Muesli with natural sweeteners like raw honey, maple syrup, date paste, dried fruits, and apple.

I hope you'll try some of these breakfast ideas as they help me to sustain myself during the day. What do you like to have for breakfast? Drop a comment below or if you tend to skip it, give these healthier choice food ideas a go. You’ll feel better, the food is more sustainable and keeps you going for longer.
